Annapurna Base Camp trek is genuinely a journey between heaven and Earth through one of the most impressive regions of Nepal. This trek is one of the ones that offers the best views without the need to ascend to an excessive altitude.
During our 16-day Annapurna Base Camp trek, we reach an altitude of 4,130 meters, to the Annapurna Sanctuary, which offers the experience of a real high mountain expedition. We will get to spend a night at the base camp which allows us to watch the rising rays of sun glimmering over Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna South (7219m), Gandharva Chuli (6248m) and on the glaciers of Hiunchuli (6441 m).
Before ascending to the Annapurna Base Camp, we will also make a short stop at Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) Base Camp from where we will see the double peak of this sacred mountain of Nepalese.
We will also be ascending the Poon Hill before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp. This extraordinary viewpoint offers some of the best views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and Manaslu.
And as a bonus, along the route to the Annapurna Base Camp, we will pass carefully cultivated, terraced rice fields and traditional Nepalese villages, untouched monsoon forests, and colorful rhododendron groves. We will meet langurs – monkeys that inhabit the local forests. Further progression will take us to the route embellished with fluttering colorful Buddhist prayer flags, Mani Walls, and local monasteries.
Annapurna Base Camp trek is indeed the best short trek in the lap of the Himalayas with an impressive natural environment. And thanks to Gurungs and Magars residing in the high altitude and Brahmans and Chhetris in the lower areas, we will have the opportunity to share their daily life as we pass through the villages and enrich ourselves with their culture.
Accessible to anyone with average physical fitness, this trek takes place in relatively comfortable conditions and at comfortable altitudes. Therefore, this hike is ideal for photography enthusiasts and professional photographers as well. Such landscapes, sunsets, such a starry sky, and such light as in the Himalayas cannot be found anywhere else on the planet and you will definitely catch all this in the lenses of your cameras.
So are you ready for the greatest time travel journey of your life? If so, please join our Annapurna Base Camp tour in 2024 and change your outlook on life.

There are two seasons for trekking in the Annapurna Base Camp – spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). If you go in the spring, you should be prepared for the fact that there will be snow near the base camp, and sometimes avalanches are possible. But a big plus in this period is the blooming rhododendron forests, which create incredible contrasting images against the background of snow-white mountains.
Autumn is warmer, there are practically no clouds, and the snow will melt everywhere. During this period, temperatures are still pleasant and the skies of the Himalayas, having passed the monsoon season, are much clearer and the valleys shine free of dust.
Annapurna Base Camp trek takes you to the dizzying natural amphitheater guarded by the peaks of the Annapurna massif. We will spend time in the majestic city of Pokhara where we will take a boat ride on Lake Phewa. We will explore Kathmandu with its charming atmosphere and take back the souvenir in the form of a lifetime experience.
Situated at an impressive elevation of 4130 m above sea level, the Annapurna Base Camp is at a distance of 168 km from Kathmandu. The distance of 37.1 km separates Pokhara from the Annapurna Base Camp whereas the starting point of our trek Tikedhunga lies at a mere length of 9.6 km. But first, we will undertake a road journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara driving along the 201 km stretch.
We need approximately 14 days to complete this stretch from Kathmandu and about 10 days from Pokhara. Our 16-day travel program includes exactly 10 days of hiking days when we will cover 10 to 15 each day by foot.
We will walk at a comfortable pace of 5 to 7 hours to cover our daily distance of 10 to 15 km per day. Or program intends to divide the tour duration in such a way that, in addition to walking, we have enough time for sightseeing and rest.
This trek is really a comfortable journey that doesn’t involve difficult terrain like in other trekking tours of Nepal. However, the easiest and shortest trail will be on day 4th when we walk only for 3 hours to reach Tikedhunga from Nayapul, Pokhara.
The 12th day of our Annapurna Base Camp trek includes a trek from the base camp to Bamboo village demanding us to walk for almost 7 hours which will be our maximum walk of the trek.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is of moderate difficulty. For those who are used to hiking regularly, completing the distances will not be a big problem, but they should also expect some more difficult sections. Beginners and inexperienced hikers may find it difficult to walk the daily distances, but with perseverance and thorough preparation, they too can complete it.
In addition, we will provide skilled porters throughout the trek who will carry most of your things. So you will travel with a lightweight backpack with the necessary clothing, documents, and money. Therefore, this trek is within the capabilities of every person who leads an active lifestyle.

Although easily accessible, the Annapurna Base Camp involves trekking at a high altitude of more than 4000 m elevation. Therefore, it is worth you to prepare a month before joining this trip.
The best way to prepare for this trek is running (about 5-7 km 2-3 times a week), squats, and cardio exercises, which will not only increase your endurance but also train your legs for daily hikes. Since things are decided in the head, mental preparation is also very important!
The better your physical and mental condition, the easier it will be to tolerate the altitude, acclimatize, and enjoy the hike and the scenery around you more.
Exhausted of walking along the same route to the Annapurna Base Camp with other travelers. If so, we suggest you take the lesser walked trail passing through the traditional villages of Narchyang, Kalokhola, and Phoolbari and approach the base camp.

Wish to challenge yourself and test your strength? Then a demanding route of about 18 days to the Annapurna circuit trek will be perfect for you.

The program of our hiking tour is structured in such a way that we allow enough time to adapt to the altitude. We walk at a slow, leisurely pace, getting higher and higher every day.
And please keep in mind, that if you have a headache, loss of appetite, and sleep, then drinking a lot of water, garlic soup, and ginger tea will help you much faster than taking any pill. And remember there are no miracle pills to save you from altitude sickness. If you are confident in your abilities, taking pills is not necessary at all.

Q
The Annapurna trek begins at a very low altitude, about 1,770 meters, and progressively gains meters until reaching the Annapurna base camp at 4,130 m, the highest point. The stages are designed so that the increase in gradient and the pace of the walk are gradual.
While the Everest Base Camp Trek begins at 2,650 meters. The highest point of the trek is in Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters. This makes it somewhat more demanding in order to have good acclimatization.
Therefore, we could say that both have a very similar level of difficulty when it comes to hiking, but trekking to Everest Base Camp requires more caution when acclimatizing to the altitude.
So if you are a beginner, choose Annapurna Base Camp first.
Q
The cost of the trek depends on the trek days, duration, number of group members, and the choice of your comfort. But the trip may start from USD 600 per person.
